Well, hello. It has been too long. May started out strong working on my Narwal for the Whale Sal hosted by Stitching With Charlie, but it ended on a sour note. I lost all interest in cross stitch. I know that can happen from time to time. It was super stressful not stitching for stress relief. Fortunately, near the end of June, I felt like stitching again. I’m taking it slow only working on one project for now. I’ll slowly re-introduce temperature stitching. I want to get back into the habit again.

The other thing that you will notice is that I’ve reduced my WIPs to ten. Retiring six of my projects. They’re not really gone. More in hibernation. I noticed that there were certain projects that I was avoiding. No progress in many months. It didn’t make sense to have them as active WIPs. I also like this because there are ten digits. With temperature stitching, I’ll eventually hit all of them for at least 200 stitches. I’ll make more progress on my most loved projects. They are also different sizes. I am allowing myself a new start after I have a finish. I have several projects kitted but not being worked on yet to choose from.

Sadly, I sacrficed working on the Patreon SAL for Catkin and Lillie. The pattern is by Tiny Modernist. It is called Stitch Together. Very apt for a community to do. I plan on having this as a new start in the future. I like the pattern enough and I have all the supplies.

That is what I’ve been up too. I plan on going back to my bi-weekly posting to the blog. So, consider subscribing to see the progress on these projects.

Finish

I want to post this finish before we get into the WIP Parade. Here is my completed Narwal.

This Candypop style is certainly 80's inspired

Alice in Wonderland SAL

This was my first big project from last year. It is the largest one that I have by far. This was my Sunday stitch, but I’m going to make it part of my temperature stitching. I don’t know how long this will take to finish. I’m sure that I’ll enjoy every minute of it though.

Bone Garden

The fabric for this one is a perfect pairing. It is difficult to see this without the aid of a light. I haven’t worked on it too often because of this. It also has a ton of fiddly bits like all Flossy Fox Shop designs. Love it, but lots of thread changes for those bits.

I love the little dragon on the skeleton

Capybara Crew

I had to start this immediately when I saw it. Capybaras are adorable and I love this one’s ghost buddies. The only part of this pattern that is difficult is the border. There is a lot of 310 in my future.

Cats and Mandalas August

This is a gift for my mother. She requested something with a cat. I chose this because it is a black cat paired with sunflowers. Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. It is a pattern that appeals to us both for different reasons.

Should be finished soon

Eleven Rabbits

I wanted to do another Jed X Stitch pattern after completeing Blueberry Harvest for my birthday. This pattern appealed to me. I also knew that I wanted to do another 40 count. I’m planning on doing Blueberry Jay and Cherry Magpie too!

Floral Dragon Meadow SAL

This is the SAL that I gave up on doing. The pattern is great but each section is 3,000 stitches. Which would take me a month to complete. I’m not working on a solo project for months. I’m hesitant to joing over SALs because keeping up is difficult. It starts feeling like a chore.

Gothic Bat

This monochrome pattern is so pretty. The white thread contrasts well with the red background. The fabric is called Vampire Kiss and it is perfect for evoking that gothic feeling of this project.

This project is gorgeous

Graveyard Wander

This was one of the first patterns from The Witchy Stitcher that I wanted to complete. There is something magic about this corvid couple. I adore them. There is already a second pattern released called A Graveyward Uninion. I wonder what the third will be?

So romantic and part of a trilogy

Spring Wellies

This was my Spring Equinox start. The rain boots drew me into it. I love the teal color. This is quite the easy stitch for me. I imagine that it will be completed quickly.

Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey

How timely with the fate of Doctor Who in the air. It is going to come back. I think the Russell T. Davies and Stephen Moffit vision is over now. They need a new direction. It worked for the Ninth doctor. They will get someone fresh and do a “reboot”. Too bad it won’t be airing on Disney+. I hate to miss episodes.

Plans

I’m working on the Floral Dragon Meadow SAL at the moment. I don’t have plans to work on anything else. I want to get that Rose dragon completed before I move on. I’ll probably bring back my temperature stitching when that is done. Next, I would like to complete my mother’s gift. There is no good reason for why I’ve drawn it out this long. It is a simple pattern and easy to complete.
