Cross Stitch Bonanza #10 : A New Website and New Start
Well, what is there to say. Welcome to the new blog! Frankly, I’ve never liked using other people’s designs. It isn’t so much about aasthetics for me. What matters more is function.
Why I Designed This New Website
The previous design could not handle the things that I needed it to do. Building this website from scratch meant that I could add more to the backend. There is stuff going on behind the scenes that make my life easier when updating this website.
The main focus of the design was on highlighting the WIPs. They are now the fist thing that you see when you visit the home page. I used photographs to entice people to make a selection. This takes you to a project page with information and a recent image. The project pages are accessible from most pages now.
Lastly, I added a way to subscribe to a weekly newsletter. Every Sunday, you will get an update when the new blog is live. These emails are brief. They are going to be about one paragraph of text and a link to the new post. That’s it. No marketing or spam. Just an alert for your convenance.
WIPs
Only one project got love this week. Not much cross stitching was going on while building this blog. We did get a small start.
I worked on Part Three of the Floral Dragon Meadow SAL by Flossy Fox Shop ↗. This section is the sunflower dragon. Which is a beautiful ble to contrast with the yellow flowers. They do compliment each other. The only portion you see here is the tail. But, there is a yellow flower showing here. So you have some idea of what the flowers will look like. They have a few around their neck too.

Plans
The plan is to finish this next dragon by the tenth of November. That is when part four will be published. The next one is the Rose dragon. Exciting.
After that, I will work on the Stitchy SAL with the Catkin and Lillie Patreon community. I skipped last month to do more spooky stitching. This next part will be the bird on the left of the lettering. I’m not sure how long it will take. I don’t think it will be more than a week.
On the rest of the days, I want to continue working on A Graveyard Wander. It is one project that I want to see finished.
