Cross Stitch Bonanza #16 : Sorry for the Wait
Well, I apologize for my abscence. I’ve been dealing with a lot over here. My mother has had a lot of appointments with doctors. She is in good health but it was a little dire for a bit. I wasn’t in the mood to do much and I’m beinning to struggle with some depression. I will start working with a new therapist soon. That should help out a lot with what I’m going through. It would be nice to talk to someone who will listen and might have some input on what I can do. We will see. Let’s get on with the projects!
Finishes
I do have a finish that I cannot show. It is the present for my friend that I’m sending in a care package. Her husband recently had a surgery and they are coping with the results of that. He is healing and that is a good thing. He is alreay up and about. Working on his second novel and a few other things.
The pattern is from Forbidden Fiber Co. I love their themed cross stitch kits. They are always doing something related to pop culture in some way. Often books or films. I have a Monty Python kit. They also been doing a series on the Hobbit. I got the Smaug kit because I do like a dragon.
They just posted the pre-order for a Dungeons and Dragons kit ↗. I’m so happy.
WIPs
I have three WIPs this week from the end of March to the middle of April. I’m thinking of starting to post once a month. I don’t do that much work from week to week. I’m stitching a bit monogamously. I tend to work on one project for at least a week if not more during a month. I’d like to have more than one thing to show in this posts.
Spring Wellies
This was my spring start this year. I wanted to do something for the vernal equinox which was March 20th, 2026. I tried to get people to start with me but only one person seemed to follow through. Though, I suppose, it is possible that other people did starts and they just didn’t post it online. I forget not all of us are into that. I’m happy with how quickly this went and I got almost half of it done. I did decided to put this away at the beginning of April.

Tea Reading Frog
The theme for this month in the Catkin and Lillie Patreon is animals. I decided to bring back out my frog in a tea cup. He was put away for a long time and I was happy to bring him back out. This is adorable but I made an error some whare. I had to frog my frog. You can see the area that need help! I’m hoping that I can fudge things a bit. But, he had to go away again because I don’t want to deal with it right now. This is a future Suzza problem.

Capybara Crew
I plan on working on this project until the end of the month-ish. It was the pattern from The Stitch Crypt patreon for April. I knew that I wanted to work on it right away. It fits the theme of Animals and also Halfway to Halloween. It is a twofer! It is going quickly but it has some stitches that aren’t all that convenient.

Plans
I do have some plans coming up this month and in May.
The big one is that I’m doing a Bella Filipina this month as a planned start. It is the Mad Tea Party which is Alice in Wonderland themed. I love an Alice. The chart is a little hard to find. I got it from the BeStitchMe website along with the embellishment pack. It included the kreinik which is difficult to find now. The megenta kreinik is gorgeous. I’m in love and can’t wait to start it on April 28th for Stuart in Stitches birthday SAL.
The other planned start is for May 1st. This is part of Stitching with Charlie’s Whale Sal. I’m doing Candypop Narwhal by BAD Stitch. It was an exclusive to their patreon. I’m sure it will eventually be made avliable to the public.
I’m probably not going to be doing the May theme in the Catkin and Lillie Patreon. It is monogamous May which I am not doing. The other themes are Magical (maybe a dragon would count) or Mer-may. I’m not into mermaids.
I’m more into Mira May where you stitch on a Mirabilia or a Nora Corbett (same designer.) So, I do plan on working on my Sea Witch next month.
If you have taken the time to read this, thank you.
