Cross Stitch Bonanza #19 : Starting a new SAL
A little behind right now on this blog. Usually, I do the write up on Saturday and send the update link Sunday morning. Things are different right now. The doorknob in my room broke leaving it open to wild animals. I couldn’t stay there anyymore. I moved into the main trailer where my mother lives. I’ve spent most of the week adjusting to having a room mate. I don’t think that I’ll move back soon. I can take better care of my mother this way. We’ve already navigated a crisis or two since we’ve been together. It makes me wonder how many more years we will have. It seems like a hassle now but looking back it will be time well spent.
I don’t have much to report this week. Very little stitching going on as I’ve been adjusting.
WIPs
A Graveyard Wander
I completed the upper torso of this gentleman. I love this pattern. I’m not enjoying working in 40 count right now. Not typically how I feel. This project would have benefited being stitched 2 over 2 on 32 count. I’m going to keep going with it. The details are tiny though. I don’t like that.
Evergreen
The SAL that broke my vows on new SALS. The good news is that this first section is around 1,000 stitches. And we get two weeks for every section. That is more than enough time for me to complete it. I’m worried about how big these sections might get. If they are greater than 2,000, like the Flower Dragon Meadow SAL, then I will not be able to keep up. We will see what happens with this. So far, I’m completing my average of 100-200 stitches a day.
Plans
The hope is now that I’ve settled that I will get into temperature stitching again. The plan is to stitch on Evergreen in the mornings and temperature stitching in the afternoon. Maybe kind of lame but all that I can muster right now. I’m so jealous of people who do 3,000+ stitches in a week. I don’t know how they find the time. I can only to a 1-2 hour stitchy session before I have to take a break. Sitting for so long in one position is hard on my body. I have to do stretches! I’d like to see a month where I do more than 5,0000 stitches.
