I’m still in a bit of a monogamous phase, but I think that is changing. Please check out the home page as you can see each of my WIPs visually. I have a lot of them now and it is a bit overwhelming to consider do any single one. It isn’t so much fun to work on one project anymore. I need to get my hands on more them during the month. I’ll talk more about that in plans.

Starts

I am a full-time caretaker for my mother. I spend time with her through out the day to keep her company. Mostly, we hang out at meal times. I have a project that I stitch on while I am with her.

This month, I’ve started Tea Reading Frog by The Stitch Crypt. This was a Patreon Exclusive and I’m not sure it will go on sale. I am stitching it on this beautiful fabric that is a dark blue with gold flecks. I think it will bring out the gold in the tea cup.

This is my progress in only the first week!

I adore their little froggy face.

WIPs

The only other thing that I worked on this week was the Floral Dragon Meadow SAL by Flossy Fox Shop. I’ve fallen behind by quite a bit. I would say at least a week’s worth of stitching. I’m not happy about it but it is also okay. The past two months, I’ve worked at a frantic pace to finish each section on time. I think that I’m done with that. Honestly, I do no like how much time it takes to do each part. It takes about half my stitchy time for the month. Which I could use to stitch on other projects. So, I’m going to start spending less time on this.

I’ve nearly finished the Sunflower Dragon!

This is the most unique dragon so far.

plans

I’m in two cross stitch communities. One on Patreon and the other on Discord. I asked both, how do you work on multiple WIPs? The most common answer was vibes. People stitch on what has their interest. I’m not comfortable with that as I find that I need more structure.

So, I thought about my stitching capacity. I can stitch about 6,000 stitches a month. So, that means that I can work on three projects for 2,000 stitches or six for 1,000 stitches. I need to do at least 1,000 to feel like I made some progress.

My plan right now is to choose three projects a month to work on two days a week. Reserving Sunday to work on my Alice in Wonderland SAL. I might choose which WIPs to work on by spinning a wheel while reserving the right to choose one that I want to work on instead. You know, ultimately, you have to stitch on what makes you happy. I like having a plan to help me make decisions.

I am going to give up on finishing the part of the Floral Meadow Dragon SAL that I’m on. I gave it two weeks and didn’t finish this time. I think that is enough dedication. I don’t know if I will try to catch up. It depends on if I like the next part which is a Rose Dragon. I do love the Flossy Fox Shop style which makes this an enjoyable stitch. My only problem is making the time for it.
